Sports Writers Association of Bangalore's (SWAB) three-man team comprising R Satya, Abhishek Baadkar and Mallikacharan Wadi posted a thrilling 4-3 win over Kolkata ‘A’ in the penalty kicks competition of the 35th SJFI National Convention in Pune.

Conducted at the Bharati Vidyapeeth University grounds on Saturday, the Bangalore team stormed into the final with a comfortable 3-0 win against Nagpur ‘A’ in their semifinal while Kolkata posted a hard-fought 5-4 win against Mumbai ‘A’ before going down to the former in the summit clash. In the inaugural free throws competition, Indore registered a 1-0 tie-breaker win over Chandigarh-UP to clinch the crown.
